Characteristics of biodegradable packaging

New technologies were incorporated to develop sustainable packaging (state-of-the-art resins, biodegradable packaging with d2w and compostable packaging).
2. Plastic reduction
There was a decrease in the use of plastic by reducing the thickness of the wrappers by 25% and optimizing their size.
3. Recycling
The circular economy is being opted for in 35 factories globally, 19 of them are in Mexico. Thanks to the work of employees in the plant, 97% recycling was achieved in its production processes in the country. In this axis, it also highlights alliances with third parties to encourage recycling and promote a culture among different actors in society.

This plastic can be recycled during its useful life, but if it does not go through the recycling process and ends up as garbage in the sea or land, a process of fragmentation of its molecules will begin. This biodegradable packaging is governed by ASTM 6954-18 certification – an international standard that recognizes, develops and verifies plastics that degrade in the environment.
